Clinical roles bring executive perspective and insight on patient experience
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., and Chicago – National healthcare communications firm Jarrard Phillips Cate & Hancock, Inc., has added prominent executives, Dr. David Pate, MD, JD and Denise Venditti, DNP, MHA, RN, FACHE, CPXP, to its bench of experienced advisors as the industry braces for transformational change.
The growing consultancy is deepening its resources as healthcare, reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic, faces significant financial and clinical challenges but also opportunities for innovation and transformation to new models of care delivery.
“Healthcare providers are navigating historic disruption and uncharted waters as society emerges from the initial COVID-19 crisis,” said Jarrard Inc. president and CEO David Jarrard.
“We know that David’s and Denise’s depth of experience within the industry and compassion for the people they serve provide our team with powerful new perspectives and our clients with unmatched strategic and tactical insight for leading their organizations into the future during this unprecedented time.”
Pate was most recently president and CEO of Idaho-based St. Luke’s Health System, a position he held for a decade, during which he led the six hospital system’s transition to value-based care. Venditti is former vice president of patient experience at Pennsylvania-based Geisinger Health System and a recognized leader in the field.
Financial disruption, shifting models of care, questions about access, an uncertain political landscape and a growing focus on patients as consumers – all of which have accelerated dramatically in the past three months due to the pandemic – are leading hospitals and health systems to evaluate their strategic plans and consider how to maximize their sustainability while providing ever-better care within a new and still-emerging healthcare landscape.
Both Pate and Venditti have led prominent healthcare organizations through these high stakes moments and will bring their executive experience to bear on the myriad challenges and opportunities facing Jarrard Inc.’s clients.
“Throughout my career I’ve had the opportunity to serve in many roles, from front-line nursing to system leadership positions,” said Venditti. “My time at Geisinger taught me the value of relationships, collaboration, and innovative problem-solving. I’m excited to apply my 20-plus years of leadership experience and lessons learned to help other organizations that may be feeling stuck or want to differentiate themselves on the human experience.”
Said Pate: “These are unprecedented times for an industry that was already going though unprecedented disruption even before the pandemic. The challenges will only increase as we plan for a ‘post-COVID’ world. This time calls for leadership and boards to re-evaluate their strategic plans and take on new levels of communication with their internal and external stakeholders. I am honored to work with Jarrard Phillips Cate & Hancock, Inc., a firm already recognized for their expertise in these matters, to assist health care leaders navigate what lies ahead.”
